The meeting or "Ferté Alais" 2000 was for me the most important engagement of the year; never before had I assisted in this mythic gathering initiated by Jean-Baptiste Salis. My arrival at Ferté airfield, together with my girl friend, provoked an emotion beyong words. "You see, I said, this is the Mecca of aviation fans. Tomorrow and sunday there will be tens thousands of pilgrims." I located our stall; right at the entry : lucky guy ! |
| The next day at 7h30 AM we started installing tables and paintings. The first visitors were already browsing among the boxes for collector's items. Valerie barely supported my tension and uneven temper, but things settled down and by nine o'clock we were ready for the first massive arrival. |
| Finally, we spent two marvellous days, starting in drizzle and ending under a deep blue sky. I hope the visitors got a good impression of my work and I thank them for their many encouragements, in particular Louis des Monstiers and Olivier Menu. Thanks also to Valerie who did a good deal of the sales so I could participate in the meeting and make some pictures (others follows in the next news issues). |  |

Meeting of Biscarosse 2000 - from 01/04/2000 to 04/06/2000

This hydroplane meeting lacked the appeal of the previous years. Partly because of capricious weather but also by the absence of the Canadair retained at Bordeaux for fire warnings. However the presence of the "Otter" hydroplane painted as the Late 28 of Mermoz was noteworthy. The pilot and plane are preparing a trip around the world in honor of the aeropostal heros |
| The "Marche Verte" patrol (from Morrocco) and sunday, June 4th the "Cartouche dorées" (France) also participated, and sunday, june 4, these virtuosos performed a magnificent spectacle. By the way, many thanks to the friends who replaced me at the stall during my repeated absences : Vanessa & Dimitri, Eric and the others. And I greet in passing the members of the Biscarrosse hydroplane museum and the "Mémoire de l'air" with whom I hope to cooperate in the future |
